Skyline Movie Review

What do you get when you give a state of the art Rail gun to a 1 year old baby? You’d get something like Skyline…

Mind-blowing special effects mixed with cheap dialogue, cheap story, and cheap acting… I actually feel sad for the movie coz of all the hard work they placed in the great editing and special effects, it falls completely flat on its ass as one of the worst movies I wanted to watch.

It used light effects way too much in all parts of the film. I know that Video Copilot maker, Andrew Cramer, did a damn awesome job with Optical Flares but seriously, this movie gave you too much light effects, it was already boring to look at..

Here’s what they could have done, make it more gritty, more particles, BETTER STORY (though I think the ending was ok), better acting…

movie rating: 5/10

Inception Movie Review

Director: Christopher Nolan

Writer: Christopher Nolan

Stars: Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Ellen Page

This movie has been out for quite awhile and at first, I really didn’t want to watch it. I felt like it was over hyped and just didn’t want to watch it and be disappointed… NOT THE CASE HERE!

This one is a huge huge hit and definitely a contender for best picture (which I believe it should win) its beautiful to look at and the story is something that you have never seen. the twists and turns go in a breakneck speed. its like Jerry Bruckheimer and Ridley Scott made this movie (I'm referring to the camera shots and particles), however, when I refer to the over all story of the film, Christopher Nolan surely standout in his achievement of a memorable signature…his signature is the story itself…he creates this unique, fully conceptualized, amazing story that you just cant help but hype it to other people…

so I say this now, this deserves to be the “Best Picture”

Score: 9.5 (I so want to give this film a 10)

Two Romantic Comedy Movies i Give Two THUMBS UP!

Movie #1

The Proposal
Of course I'm gonna get this one! Ryan Reynolds is here! So is Sandra Bullock. This movie talked about a hell-bitch boss, Margaret Tate (Sandra Bullock) who forces her gorgeous assistant Andrew Paxton to marry her when she is forced deportation. The movie is filled with great laughs and very absorbing story that includes all the quirks that a family would include when joining in on the family.

Movie #2

A romantically challenged morning show producer, Abby Richter (Katherine Heigl), is reluctantly embroiled in a series of outrageous test by her chauvinistic correspondent, Mike Chadway (Gerard Butler), to prove that his theories on relationships and help her find love. His clever ploys, however, lead to an unexpected result.

Both movies get a 8.5/10

PS. I'm a sucker for happy endings

The Taking Of Pelham 123: Review

Directed by Tony Scott and written by Brian Helgeland (screenplay) and John Godey (novel).
The movie is centered on a hijacking of subway Pelham 123 by Bernard Ryder (John Travolta) and the MTA dispatcher Walter Garber (Denzel Washington) in charge of that particular area in the subway. If you like action, overflowing testosterone (contributed by Denzel and Travolta) then you would definitly like this movie. Its not what you might expect in a ransom case movie with action but the meaning in the overall movie is something that is worth learning.

If movies with good story, enough action, and amazing editing is your style, then i highly recommend this movie. However, if your the kind of guy that doesnt like putting much thought in the movies you watch or you just cant understand english, then why are you reading this in the first place?

I give this move an 8/10

torrent of the movie

Paranormal Activity: Review

A Film by Oren Peli. this movie in centered on a middle class couple experiencing some disturbing haunting.
Now i wouldn't like to compare this to the amazing cult classic, the Blair Witch Project but it has a few key notes that it has taken from that movie. But to where the first movie excelled almost immediately, this one on the other hand took awhile to get popularized. It was shown on 2007 in selected cities and due to popular demand, it has gone US-wide on 2009 and world wide via torrent sites. hehe.
I just have to say this, this movie gives some new feelings on how a horror film is shown. You get the feeling of real shock on what is happening and some pretty good scare. the ending is also well done. I highly recommend this movie to fans of get your socks off kind of scare. But if your the type that gets scared with small spiders or cute dolls, then i say watch this in the day, you might have the next few says sleepless and twitchy :)

give the film an 8.5/10

PS. personally, i wasn't that impressed with the ending but it was still good enough to give an after taste.

Push (2009)

Drected by: Paul McGuigan
Written by: David Bourla

this movie is amazing... from the effects to the story... the best part of this movie is that it doesn't concentrate too much on dazzling your eyes, it makes you look deeper and concentrate on the story much more :D

this is also the first time that i would be able to see Dakota Fanning look matured and would you believe, she actually gets drunk and even swears :D hahahah

i give this movie a 7.5/10 :D

Drag Me To Hell: Review

Directed by: Sam Raimi. Written by: Sam Raimi and Ivan Raimi.

Darn, I've watched this movie about a month ago already and today is the time i have to make a blog of it -That's just sad. Anyway, going back to the movie. If your a huge fan of 'Army of Darkness' and horror comedy movies, i suggest you watch this. If not, you might want to look somewhere else. Sam Raimi is the maker of the spiderman movies and his style and story telling does seep into this movie. From the intro to the comedy and action, it all comes together as a movie made with his trademark.

It was an OK movie for me. nothing that special but still watchable. I give it a solid 6.5/10

X-men Origins: Wolverine Review

Its been about a week and a half since i saw this film. Sorry for taking so long but I've been really busy. Anyway, lets get back to Wolverine: Origins.

This movie represents how the X-men movie should have been made. It should've stuck with the comics. I mean common, if your gonna make an X-men movie or any other movie with a very deep, interesting and well founded past, then you have to stick with it. The past X-men movies have completely changed the story, the feel, and the over all appeal of the film. For those who say that they changed the story in order to be more appropriate for the movie feel, you can go outside and go fuck yourself coz I wont buy it. COMMON PEOPLE! Spiderman stuck to the concept and the story line, sure not the dialogue but the drive of the story was there. And thats where Wolverine gets its appeal. it stuck close to its roots and delivered it without compromise. It was fun witty and over all great movie. The characters were great, although crush ng sister ko si Agent Zero, mine will still be (sorry Jericho, but i have to give it to him in the movie) Deadpool played by Ryan Reynolds. :) He is the hottest thing alive... lava hot, supernova hot. If he bit me, i'd melt in his mouth :D haha..

The special effects were great! The story was even better (as supported by the fact that the DVD incomplete version was successful even without that much effects)

Blindness: Review

Directed by Fernando Meirelles, based on the book by José Saramago and co-written by Don McKellar for the screen play.

This movie is not for the faint of heart. It is gruesome but very very well made. As the little twists of story starts, it slowly captivates you and makes you left glued on to the screen. You get the feeling of it being too long but then again, the time you spend intimately with this movie is worth it. Scary, gruesome, realistic, and overall impact was superb. This movie will stay with me for a long time. I highly recommend this movie...

I give it a rating of 8.7/10 :D

Punisher: War Zone Review

I'm feeling a little random so i tried my luck on unusual movies this time around...
I got to buy Punisher, Blindness, and another movie i cant remember.. anyway.. this review is for War Zone..

Directed by Lexi Alexander and Written by Nick Santora, Art Marcum and Matt Holloway. The movie wasnt half bad.. infact, it was pretty well made when you look past the obvious edited gore in it. The story was simple and the twists felt natural. The ending was good and funny... but after two days, i sorta forgot the movie..

looks like the Punisher franchise is grabbing hold of their signature; alots of gore and simple story, What more can you ask for an action packed movie? :D

i give it a score of 7/10 :D

Slumdog Millionaire: Review

Directed by: Danny Boyle and Loveleen Tandan (india)
Written by: Simon Beaufoy (screenplay) and Vikas Swarup (novel)

Pure is a rare word to use however this is one of the very few times that i actually want to use it. From start to finish this movie is able to grab your emotions and sympathy. It makes you laugh when it wants you to and is able to perectly tell a compelling story, and it tells it with such great execution. It simply captures you.

Starting from the chase in the slums of india to the ending, its smooth transitions and captivating style is facinatingly different yet still relatable :D

Breakfast with Scot: Review

Directed by Laurie Lynd and Written by Michael Downing (novel) and Sean Reycraft (writer).

i just finished watching Breakfast with Scot, a scot pictures production, which tells the story of two gay guy living a very "straight" life until there are punged into another world when a kid named Scot is taking into their arms.

the film is remarkably funny (something that i relly didnt expect) and the story was very good to say the least. Sure there are some scenes that felt a bit longer than necessary. And there you kind of wish the ending was grander but over all, it was really really nice.. i liked it enough to actually blog it and recommend it to all :D

i give this movie a 7.6/10 :D

Quarantine: Review

I just got the oppportunity to watch a movie my sister has been hyping me about.

Quarantine is a movie which is somewhat like Cloverfield meets Dawn of the Dead. We found the movie very exhausting (which is a good thing). Sure there might be some bad ideas here and there but generally, it'll be easy to over look due to the fact that the movie was well worth it to watch... please note that me and my family watched this movie through our indoor movie theatre but i would guess the movie would be the same thing. This movie achieves its purpose.. entertaining and vey enjoyable. i just hoped the trailer didnt show that much though. never-the-less, the movie was rocking :D hihihi

How about you? What do you think about it?

REVIEWING QUANTUM OF SOLANCE

This is going to be my very first blog and what better way than to talk about things i love... Guns, Gore, and Gorgeous movies.
This night, i just watched quantum of solance (spoiler free i hope). There are alot of things that was good with this latest movie and some minor things that i slightly disliked. I loved that they have improved on the opening animation as compared to that of Casino Royal, the action scenes are better and more furious ( you can really feel James' is a living person who just happen to be good at what he does) and lastly, i loved the human feeling that this can be possible for just about everyone to do. As to the good, there are the irritating but still tolerable. The gadgets wasnt that much of eye catcher this time around but still very realistic. and lastly, the ending felt hanging which if seen in the optimisic view, can only lead to a better start for the next one. ( i hope there is a next one though :) )

If your looking for some great action and some pretty smart conversations that makes you think then this movie is the one for you. But if your having trouble just reading and understanding this blog then the movie might not work for you but the action will still catch your eyes.. either way, its still a great movie worth seeing ... peace y'all! :)
